  Be at least 18 years old, a Nevada resident or employed in Nevada, and not convicted of a disqualifying offense.

  Complete the Nevada Secretary of State notary training course (required for new appointments and renewals after lapse).

  Pass the Nevada notary examination administered by the Secretary of State.

  Obtain a $10,000 surety bond from a Nevada-authorized surety carrier for the 4-year commission term.
